We’re looking for a Content Strategist to join our team of content ninjas from all over the world. You’ll be at the forefront of groundbreaking initiatives and will play a crucial role in the use of content strategy to drive business results for our Japanese brand. As the content team, we work closely with product managers, designers, and marketing specialists throughout the product and promotion development process to create and develop compelling content. The position is based in Hangzhou, China.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
◇ Be responsible for the quality of the Japanese content on AliExpress app and website.
◇ Maintain content guidelines to ensure the website has a consistent language, tone, and voice.
◇ Lead a small team of writers to create, edit, and proofread web content.
◇ Get a clear understanding of business and user goals on each step of the user journey, and apply your learnings to further improve business key metrics and user satisfaction; consistently provide and implement improvement ideas from a content and user experience perspective.
◇ Have a working knowledge of Japanese marketing and UX design trends, consult product teams on best practices.
◇ Work closely with product managers, graphic designers, interaction designers, marketing specialists, and front-end developers throughout the creative process.
Skills
◇ We’re looking for someone who thrives in the face of a challenge. Someone who can jump over language barriers and cultural disparities and come out stronger.
◇ Think creatively – both in terms of content and problem solving. Think what will make the copy pop. Take the uncommon approach when solving a problem.
◇ Ability to harmonize copy with design – must be able to work effectively with Content Strategists, Graphic and Interaction Designers.
◇ Take ownership of projects. Good project coordination skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
◇ Ability to ride along with project changes. Quickly adapt to additions, deletions, and tweaks.
Qualifications
◇ Native-level fluency in Japanese, exceptional editing and writing skills.
◇ 3 years or more of full-time content experience. E-commerce or agency experience preferred.
◇ A portfolio showing a diverse range of work, including UX writing, user research.
◇ Related degree preferred but not required.
◇ Experience with translation management, QA or UX design is a bonus.
◇ Spoken/written English required; spoken Mandarin is a bonus.
