Function: R&D Manager. Project Manager
Report To: General Manager of the Module Division with a dotted-line to the General Manager of TDC
Tasks:
The candidate shall implement a R&D center in order to develop Tamura current sensors. He/She will have to manage internal and external resources to achieve this goal. Firstly, he/she will have to adapt/tune current sensors based on market demand. He/She will then develop complete new products compatible with the global market trends.
To achieve these tasks, Tamura Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic engineer with technical expertise in mechanical and/or electronic and/or process engineering. A background in power electronic is mandatory. He/She will be in charge of:
◆ creating a development center
◆ technical cooperation with our R&D center in Japan.
◆ managing external R&D resources
◆ guaranteeing product performance: quality (ppm), production cost, development time to market, development project cost
◆ supporting worldwide Sales and Marketing departments
◆ demonstrating autonomy with limited instructions from either the General Manager of Module Division or from clients
◆ understanding customer applications, analyzing global needs and being proactive into finding solutions
◆ suggesting, comparing and deciding optimal technical solutions
◆ carrying out trainings in his/her areas of expertise
◆ writing regular reports to his/her superiors
Professional experience
◆ At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in a Power Electronic working environment
◆ At least 2 to 5 years project management experience
◆ Knowledge of sensor business and/or drive/inverter business would be a plus

◆ Good judgment and business skills
◆ Leader/charismatic skills
◆ Undoubted technical competency, with experience in the Power Electronic work environment
◆ Ease with written and oral communication in English
◆ Capacity to work in an intercultural company (Japanese but also western culture)
◆ Japanese written and/or oral communication would be a plus
Qualifications
◆ University degree in mechanical or process or electronics engineering
Compensation:
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. Compensation will include a base salary, benefits and performance incentives.
